This course aims to provide post graduate counselling students with an understanding of how career development occurs, from various theoretical standpoints, while also taking into consideration the unique contribution of other life aspects to career development. By the conclusion of this course, you should be able to articulate theories supporting career development, be knowledgeable of career programme development procedures and the professional, legal, and ethical considerations associated with career development. In addition, they should have a plethora of “tools” to help you in career development activities with clients. Students will identify and/or describe components of various career development theories and career models, including, but not limited to, those of Holland, Super, and Savickas.
