In this course, learners/participants will gain the basic skills and knowledge required to plan, promote and successfully execute events. Learners will be exposed to the core concepts, major principles and current best practices in the field of events planning and management.


This course is designed to introduce learners to the principles and practices involved in promoting and selling products and services in the local and global marketplace.  The course will empower learners in their understanding of the approaches involved in the design and development of products and services for specific target audiences/markets.

This course will focus on various aspects of the Cultural and Creative Industries with specific reference to 
the entertainment and media industries.  It introduces learners to knowledge areas of the creative 
industries, through exploration of its operations locally and internationally.

This course is meant to equip students with the necessary skills to create and conceptualize a story and also dissect its various components. The students will develop a professionally structured script for animated – commercials, public service announcements (PSAs), or fictional (film, video, and television) productions.

In this course, participants will understand what is 
risk, what is a hazard, and what is involved in risk assessment, mitigation, and 
management. Additionally, they will be exposed to procedures and methods to guide 
them in the identification of dangers associated with the range of risks that are likely to 
affect an event, patrons the event planner, organizer, and manager. These include 
compliance, emergency, health & safety, insurance, legal and ethical, risk assessment, 
security management, financial, reputational, and operational.  Learners/participants 
will examine and analyze case studies involving local and international scenarios to 
augment their learning experience.
