This course will introduce you to the
fundamental principles of psychology and to the major areas of psychological
inquiry. The common goal is to help you understand how the mind and brain
interface with the external world to shape behaviour. To achieve this, you
will investigate introductory topics such as learning, memory,
sensation and perception, personality, lifespan development and psychological
disorders. Special attention will be given to helping you become
better thinkers, show appreciation for the work of others and lay the
foundation for your interest in research. Emphasis
will be placed on the application of critical thinking skills to writing
effective arguments, analyzing and critiquing the writings of others, and
understanding contemporary controversies in psychology. This course will be delivered online utilizing synchronous and
